About Chicks On The Rocks
Chicks On The Rocks was founded in 2015 by Dawn Gallegos, as a way to document her adventures as a beginning off-roader, and to share her passion for the great outdoors and knowledge of preparedness and survival skills. This site is intended to inspire others to get outside and explore the wild!

Dawn G. is the founding editor of the Chicks On The Rocks blog and lives in Fort Collins, CO, with her husband, son, and dogs. Her hobbies include many outdoor activities, and anything Jeep! Camping, hiking, fishing, hunting, wilderness survival, wheeling, or just enjoying the fresh air are all activities that add value and fun to her life.
Dawn hopes to inspire others to enjoy the outdoors, as well as to provide info on survival skills and preparedness for natural or social disasters. She also likes checklists. A lot.
Elizabeth B. lives in Boulder County, CO with her husband, two dogs, and two cats. Besides being a Jeep owner, she's a beer drinker, yogi in training, slow runner, hiker, camper and homebrewer (follow her on Instagram for all those hobbies: @burgesselizabeth). Oh and she's only 5' tall. So, her favorite mods are those that get her in the Jeep quickly and easily.
Elizabeth is also an obsessive organizer and planner and she loves sharing her findings and best tricks with friends.
Cat P. joined Chicks On The Rocks in 2017 and is looking forward to running more trails in her 2016 Willys edition JKU. She lives in Fort Collins, CO, and has a passion for outdoor recreation.
When Cat's not out in her Jeep on her days off, she's out hiking, rock climbing or riding her motorcycle.
Lisa P. is a Colorado Native who loves to be outdoors and four wheeling. She has been three wheeling and ATV'ing since she was a kid, and her first off-roading experience was in her 1986 Toyota truck on Middle Saint Vrain at 2 a.m.! Since then she has had a Jeep CJ7, Toyota Rock Crawler, FJ Cruizer, two different TJ's and a JKU -- each were or are fun in their own ways. Lisa has a goal to explore as many of the trails in Colorado as possible and she loves to visit Moab at least once a a year.
Lisa also likes to combine her passion of Jeeping with photography and capture photos of Ghost Towns, Mines and, of course, Jeeps.
Donna Y. is a portrait photographer specializing in newborn, maternity, child, and family photography. In her spare time she loves hitting the trail in her Jeep, camping, and capturing landscapes, some of which can be seen in the Ago Gallery in Ouray, Co.
